This role will cover the financial and management reporting for the ZIC Ireland Branch and the Technical Centre of Excellence (TCoE) Reporting Unit. The successful candidate will have a strong Finance background, be confident managing different stakeholder relationships, have lots of energy & enthusiasm, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic work environment. 

Your Role

 

As a Financial Accountant your main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

 

  • Ensure that all reporting is in line with IFRS, Irish GAAP or German HGB requirements where appropriate and comply with Group Accounting policies.
  • Management reporting, including forecast and plan activities, with regular reporting to the ZIC IE and TCoE management committees.
  • Expense management, including booking of appropriate accruals and prepayments in SAP, and subsequent GFER reporting.
  • Ensuring timely booking of Inter-Company Invoices for group and other services along with clear and concise communication to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Preparation of the Statutory Financial Statements for Zurich Holdings Ireland Limited.
  • Management of Bank Accounts, checking of weekly Accounts Payable Payment Runs,
  • Administration of the system for Amex Card Holders and payment requisitions. 
  • Assist in Regulatory Reporting Process to CBI as required.
  • Maintain a strong and robust control environment.
     

Your Skills & Experience

 

As a Financial Accountant your skills and qualifications will include: 

 

Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant ACA, ACCA or CIMA with at least 2+ year’s PQE.

 

Technical Competencies:

  • Previous experience with SAP accounting an advantage
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft excel skills
  • Understanding of IFRS standards  
  • Strong analytical skills

  • Take ownership for area of responsibility.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with ability to use own initiative.

  • Ability to establish and maintain constructive business relationships with all contacts inside and outside the Company.
  • Customer focused approach.

Additional Information

Primary work location is Dublin based but occasional travel may be required to other Zurich locations.
